Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi assured the public, stating, ‘We are putting people’s lives first and doing everything we can.’ Yet, the aftermath revealed 23 injuries, one of them serious, mostly from falling debris, as reported by NHK. A convenience store owner in Hachinohe, Nobuo Yamada, described the ordeal: ‘I’ve never experienced such a big shaking… luckily, the power lines are still working here.’
