Singapore's fencers achieved their most successful SEA Games performance, securing a record eight gold medals. On the final day of competition, the men's epee and women's foil teams showcased their prowess, adding two more golds to Singapore's tally. At the Fashion Island mall's Island Hall, the teams dominated their respective finals, outshining Vietnam and the Philippines. The men's epee team, comprising Azfar Luqman Ong, Bron Sheum, Si To Jian Tong, and Simon Lee, emerged victorious with a score of 44-34. Meanwhile, the women's foil team, featuring Amita Berthier, Cheung Kemei, Maxine Wong, and Stephanie Lee, retained their crown with a 45-31 win. This remarkable achievement surpasses their previous best of seven golds, solidifying Singapore's position as the top fencing nation at the SEA Games, as they had been in 2023. Prior to this final day, Singapore had already claimed golds in various events, including men's and women's individual and team foil, as well as women's individual sabre and foil.
