The Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan has issued a strong rebuke against Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar's recent remarks, which it deemed highly inflammatory, baseless, and irresponsible. The FO's statement, published in the Dawn newspaper on December 8, 2025, highlights the Indian minister's targeting of Pakistan's military as the root cause of India's challenges with its neighboring country.
In response, the FO emphasized Pakistan's commitment to being a responsible state, with its armed forces serving as a cornerstone of national security. They dedicatedly protect the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The FO also referenced the brief conflict between India and Pakistan in May, praising the professionalism and resolve of the Pakistani armed forces in defending the nation against Indian aggression.
The FO's statement further criticized Indian attempts to defame Pakistan's institutions and leadership as a propaganda campaign to divert attention from India's destabilizing actions in the region and beyond, including state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan. It accused India of disregarding amity, peace, and stability in the region with such inflammatory rhetoric.
Instead of addressing Pakistan's military, the FO suggested that India should focus on investigating the fascist Hindutva ideology, which has led to mob justice, lynchings, arbitrary detentions, and the demolition of properties and places of worship. The statement concluded by asserting Pakistan's belief in coexistence, dialogue, and diplomacy while maintaining its united and resolute stance to safeguard its interests and sovereignty.
