Etro Men's Fall 2026: Wildlife Unleashed! Fashion Show Review (2026)

In the vibrant world of fashion, Etro's Men’s Fall 2026 collection delivers a striking message that intertwines the beauty of nature with sartorial elegance. At the recent showcase, designer Marco de Vincenzo made a bold statement by donning a small trophy resembling a rhino head on his lapel, perfectly embodying the wildlife theme that shaped his latest menswear offerings.

The collection itself was a spectacle, featuring mannequins adorned with heads representing various birds and animals, capturing the attention of attendees who eagerly documented the creative display. Adding a whimsical touch to the presentation was a unicorn character, reinforcing the fantastical elements woven throughout the collection.

De Vincenzo drew inspiration from a pivotal Etro campaign from 1997 that similarly explored the intersection of human and animal motifs. He aimed to strike a balance between classic styles and playful elements while showcasing the brand's hallmark of vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and luxurious textures. "It’s about the details and the rich history of the brand," he remarked, reflecting on the depth of his creative approach.

The collection featured silky shirts and elegant dinner jackets adorned with paisley designs, while robust tweeds in shades of tawny and rust were crafted into stylish coats and blazers. A standout piece included a blazer with feather-trimmed lapels, and even more adventurous were leather biker jackets and evening blousons embellished with the faces of deer and owls, as well as charming sweaters.

Having been with Etro for over three years, de Vincenzo is still navigating the brand's unique identity. He reached out to Kean Etro, the former men’s creative director and a member of the founding family, to delve deeper into the brand's longstanding fascination with animal imagery. He discovered that this motif serves as a thought-provoking commentary on the balance between instinct and intellect.

"They began to establish the brand's codes, and what Kean achieved in menswear truly impressed and inspired me," he shared, underlining the heritage and vision that inform his designs.

In de Vincenzo's view, Etro epitomizes a blend of Italian sophistication and whimsical eccentricity, merging bourgeois influences with formalwear in a manner that reflects a carefree lifestyle, evident in the luxurious robes and pajama-like outfits featured in the collection.

When asked about his favorite animal, de Vincenzo expressed his affection for all creatures, highlighting his passion for wildlife. However, he was momentarily stumped when questioned about his corresponding Chinese zodiac animal. For those curious, he belongs to the horse sign, which is often associated with traits like energy, independence, and a spirit of adventure.

So, what do you think about the fusion of wildlife elements in fashion? Does it enhance creativity or distract from traditional aesthetics? Share your thoughts!
